It is not without reason that it has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n

Where is the Amalfi Coast located?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Let’s start from the geography: we are on the Gulf of Salerno, in Campania. On the western border we find Positano and, on the east border, Vietri sul Mare.<\/p>\n

All around, along the road that connects all the towns of the Amalfi Coast, it is possible to notice typical lemon terraces and a growing green that almost saturate the eye.<\/p>\n

Amalfi, the beating heart of it all, has always been its center, historically speaking. It became the Republic of Amalfi and, in the tenth century of the dukedom, had its greatest expansion, but the real tourist propulsion arrived only in the XIX century, thanks to the Grand Tour trips of young European aristocrats.<\/p>\n

What are the municipalities of the Amalfi Coast?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Let’s go in alphabetical order:<\/p>\n

  • Amalfi, where the characteristic Duomo is a must-see;<\/li>\n
  • Atrani;<\/li>\n
  • Cetara, famous for anchovies and pouring;<\/li>\n
  • Conca dei Marini, in which before leaving it is mandatory to try the Sfogliatella, since it has been the country where it was invented;<\/li>\n
  • Furore, a small corner of “Norway” of southern Italy, considering its fjord shape;<\/li>\n
  • Maiori;<\/li>\n
  • Minori, the country of Lemon Delights;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \"\"Positano, its historic center and the \u201cDolce Vita\u201d that you breathe between those alleys it\u2019s just unique.<\/p>\n

      What to eat on the Amalfi Coast?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

      It would be better to say \u201cwhat not to eat\u201d! Campania is a region of gastronomy, simple and succulent as it is. This land is so rich of fried fish, leavened, raw and sweets.<\/p>\n

      If we had to choose the top dishes to eat on the Amalfi Coast, we could certainly recommend:<\/p>\n

      • First courses based on fish (such as scialatielli all’amalfitana) and generally all kinds of pasta from Gragnano<\/li>\n
      • Fish based courses<\/li>\n

      • Ndunderi di Minori (gnocchi with ricotta, originally made with rennet)<\/li>\n
      • Pizza<\/li>\n
      • Fish-based preserves (typical of Cetara, such as straining)<\/li>\n
      • Sfogliatella<\/li>\n
      • Lemon delight<\/li>\n
      • Caprese cake<\/li>\n
