Civita di Bagnoregio, Viterbo – a beautiful jewel, to visit as soon as possible, this village in the province of Viterbo, pearl of Lazio.<\/p>\n

\"civitadibagnoregio_2\"<\/a>Its foundations of tuff are eroded in the time by the action of two torrents in the valley and from other atmospheric agents.<\/p>\n

It’s connected to the world by a suspension bridge of cement, built in 1965, which also links Bagnoregio to Civita.<\/p>\n

It may happen to walk with difficulty if you suffer from dizziness.<\/p>\n

Visited by tourists from all over the world, this is certainly one of the most beautiful places in Italy.<\/p>\n

\"Square<\/a>The ancient Etruscan village, soaring in a fairy-tale landscape, isolated and uninhabited, is a tourist attraction that works: during the holidays the bridge can be crossed by over 10,000 people, although the average is about 600-700 visitors per day.<\/p>\n

One of the 3 (three is said!) inhabitants of the village, is an excellent name, Paolo Crepet, the psychiatrist and sociologist become a weel-known face in television. His house is the ex Archbishop’s palace.<\/p>\n

Numerous are the interventions of hydrogeological protection made in recent years (recently the landslide of Mercatello, at the entrance of the village, is appearing in all its seriousness) to stop the decay of Civita di Bagnoregio.<\/p>\n

Geological-technical, hydrogeological, geomorphological, soil, vegetation studies on the hill of Civita are necessary to prepare reclamation works with the aim to slow down the rapid geodynamic processes in act, including the problem of the water outflow relevant to geomechanical stability, with particular attention to rain water and drainage systems, that affect both rigid plate and plastic clays.<\/p>\n

In Civita there is also a “Geological and Landslides Museum” which denotes how, around the area that the nature has built and modeled, in a fascinating and tragic way at the same time, centers of study and conferences has developed on the subject.<\/p>\n
