Campania North area<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The coasts in the northern area<\/strong> of the Campania\nregion<\/strong> are included in the provinces of Naples and Caserta<\/strong>. Campania\nfaces the Tyrrhenian Sea<\/strong> and many seaside towns of the region have\nbecome famous throughout the world, celebrated in film and literature as well\nas having been in the hearts of millions of tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caserta<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In the province of Caserta there is a famous seaside town: Mondragone<\/strong>. The town of Mondragone was known since Roman times for its sulphurous thermal waters which still today are exploited in spas<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Mondragone is known especially for its beach: a vast expanse of golden sand houses many beach clubs that offer their services to thousands of tourists who prefer this destination every year in the summer months. Noteworthy the wine and gastronomic specialties of the area, among which the internationally renowned Falerno wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naples<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Going to the south, facing the Gulf of Naples, we find the islands of the Campanian archipelago. The island of <\/a>Capri<\/a><\/strong> is nowadays, as in the past, destination of a massive number of tourists who annually crowd its streets, its hotels and its beaches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the southern part of the island there is the Cala Ventroso beach<\/strong>, reachable only by sea, being surrounded by high cliffs. In Cala Ventroso there are some beautiful caves to explore and a turquoise sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most extended beach in Capri is Marina Grande\nbeach<\/strong>, a shoreline of golden sand mixed with pebbles behind which arise\npromontories covered with woods. The sea is wonderfully bright. Several beach\nresorts provide maximum comfort and entertainment to all bathers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The island of Ischia<\/strong> is also part of the\nCampanian archipelago, characterized by troubled and fascinating history and by\na thousand natural beauties. Tourists who travel to Ischia are spoiled for\nchoice: the archaeological museum of Lacco Ameno and the Aragonese castle can\nsatisfy their desire of culture and if they are looking for relax they can\nvisit Cava Grado beach<\/strong>, on the south coast of the island. Although it is\na beautiful golden sandy beach overlooking the turquoise sea, Cava Grado is not\nso popular, except for the customers of the hotel adjacent to the beach. An\nideal place for relaxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campania\nSouth area<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The coasts of southern Campania are included in the\nprovince of Salerno and its beaches are among the most beautiful and famous,\nsuch as the Amalfi Coast<\/strong>, in the south of the Sorrento Peninsula, as\nwell as Cilento<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salerno<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

One of the most famous centers of the Amalfi Coast is\nthe beautiful town of Positano<\/strong>: a view postcard with beautiful gardens,\nluxurious villas, little houses perched on the uplands and above all a very\nclear sea. The Marina Grande beach<\/strong> is the most popular of Positano, and\nhouses both seaside resorts and a free zone. Positano Marina Grande is often\nfrequented by celebrities and tourists from all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further south, in the heart of the coastal area of the\nCilento National Park is located the Ascea Marina beach<\/strong>, a several\nkilometers long beach lined with olive trees and other vegetation typical of\nthe Mediterranean scrub. The sea that skims Ascea Marina is clear and clean,\nthe beach is very well maintained and the beach resorts are well equipped. In\nthe immediate vicinity there are hotels and several restaurants. Near Ascea\nMarina there is the archaeological site of Elea-Velia, the ancient Greek city\nthat was the birthplace of the philosopher Parmenides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always in Cilento, in the proximity of Marina di\nCamerota<\/strong>, there is the Cala d’Arconte beach<\/strong>, a corner of paradise\nwedged between rugged cliffs covered of pine trees. It is a very wide coastline\nof fine golden sand overlooking a sea of a quite high sandy bottom, a common\nfeature of the Tyrrhenian waters. In Cala d’Arconte you can find a tourist\nvillage and several beach resorts that offer the best comfort to tourists. At short distance from the beach\nthere are several campsites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The beaches of Capo Palinuro<\/strong>. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Around Capo Palinuro<\/strong> there are instead beaches, are small bays separated by high cliffs that make them inaccessible from the hinterland, so it’s possible to reach them only by sea. Also due to their partial isolation, these beaches are many little corners of paradise: clear and fine sand, turquoise sea, lot of green as a frame and above all very few bathers.
